A British woman has been stabbed to death in her Italian home as police hunt her husband who reportedly fled in the family car.
The woman, 66, was found in a pool of blood at her home in the Verratti district, La Repubblica reported.
The chief prosecutor of Lanciano, Mirvana Di Serio, and the forensic police have also arrived at the site.
The discovery was made after the woman’s friend was unable to reach her by phone and went to her house, about six miles away from the town centre.
Neighbours called the police after hearing the friend’s screams after arriving at the house.
