Police search for registered sex offender Robert Crilly

A 36-year-old registered sex offender is being sought by police after he failed to comply with his reporting obligations.

Assistant Commissioner Chris Gilbert said Robert Crilly is actively avoiding police and is known to frequent the Tatura area of Shepparton.

“He knows he’s wanted, he needs to hand himself in and he will be held to account for that, it’s inevitable he will be found and arrested,” Mr Gilbert said.

Police don’t believe he is dangerous. Authorities last saw Crilly in December last year when he was served with a court order.

A police spokeswoman said investigators believe he is living in the Shepparton area. However, recent information indicates Crilly may currently be in metropolitan Melbourne, in particular the Coburg and Pascoe Vale areas, she said.

“Investigators believe he is actively avoiding police.”

Crilly is Caucasian, about 189 centimetres tall, with a solid build, short brown hair, hazel eyes, a dragon tattoo on his left shoulder and the name “JACKY” tattooed on the back of his neck.

Police had earlier also been looking for Paul Kraft, 55. He was arrested at Moorabbin on Saturday.

Anyone who sights Crilly is urged to contact triple zero (000) immediately.

Anyone with other information about the 36-year-old’s whereabouts is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or make a confidential report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
