Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly cancelled a huge Hollywood party they had planned after facing a snub.

The party was said to be due to take place at the couple's multi million-pound Montecito home on July 4 for Independence Day.

However, a source told New Magazine the Duke and Duchess of Sussex called off the bash after Spotify cancelled their $15million contract, leaving them "no choice but to cancel".

A source told the publication: "They had a huge party planned at their home which they cancelled just three days out."

They said Meghan was left with "no choice but to cancel" following the fallout. They added Meghan and Harry had "erected gazebos" for the party, but they were taken down when Meghan "instructed the planners to call it off".

The pair signed the multi-year deal with streaming giant Spotify in 2020, however the deal was not renewed after just two projects including Meghan's podcast Archetypes. She reportedly received £14million for the first episode.

The cancellation came six months after Spotify announced it would cut 6% of its workforce, roughly 600 jobs, before announcing it would cut a further 200 jobs.

It has been reported that since the couple lost their mega deal with Spotify, they have been considering how to trim down their lavish Californian lifestyle – including looking at downsizing to elsewhere in LA.

It was claimed the royal pair are in the very early stages of moving to the outer parts of Los Angeles, possibly to Malibu.

A source told The Express: “Harry and Meghan are reviewing their living options with Malibu being a place of interest.

“They have secretly visited the area a couple of times and have been out and about, looking at what’s there.

“And Meghan knows parts of the region from being there as a kid".
