The family of the 15-year-old schoolgirl killed alongside the bus driver in an accident on the M53 have said her death will leave a "massive void in our lives".

Jessica Baker died after a bus reportedly struck a reservation near Junction 5 and overturned on Friday September 29.

Stephen Shrimpton, whose family believes he "suffered medical issues" at the wheel just moments before the crash, also died.

In a tribute issued today, her family said: "Jessica was a warm hearted wonderful daughter, granddaughter and niece, devoted sister and loyal friend.

"A talented climber, based at the Boardroom climbing centre Academy where she helped coach younger climbers and competed around the country inspiring others.

"At the age of 15, just starting year 11 at West Kirby Grammer School where her focus was not just on academic work but also sports representing the school at many events.

"Her untimely death has led to a massive void in our lives that will never be filled.

"She will be missed by many from not only school but also the climbing community across the country."

An investigation into this incident is ongoing and officers are still appealing for witnesses and dash-cam footage.

More than 50 schoolchildren were on the coach.

Stephen Shrimpton is believed to have suffered from an unexplained medical emergency, according to his family writing on a GoFundMe page.

The page was launched as a way to raise funds for Stephen's funeral. His sister-in-law Emily said Stephen leaves behind a widow in her 30s and two children aged four and eight. The Mirror reported.
