A SEVEN-year-old boy has died after being hit by a minibus as he walked home from school.
The youngster was declared dead at the scene in Monmouth, Wales, following the horror smash.
His heartbroken family are being supported by specially trained officers.
Emergency crews were scrambled to the A466 at around 3.48pm yesterday.
Police confirmed a 45-year-old man from Gloucester has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and remains in custody.
They are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “Ambulance crews arrived to find a pedestrian, a boy, who had been involved in a collision with a bus.
"Sadly, nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead on scene.”
The road was closed while police investigated.
