The Rise of the XRP20 Scam

A new digital currency, XRP20, which mimics the name of Ripple’s XRP. Crypto Key Opinion Leader (KOL) Mr. Huber tweeted a stern warning against falling for the scheme, clarifying that XRP20 is not affiliated with Ripple or the XRP ecosystem.

The coin, being sold at 30 times cheaper than XRP, has attracted the attention of would-be investors looking for a bargain. But they are being duped into what appears to be an outright scam.

The Anatomy of the Crypto Scam

The scammers usually employ social media to disseminate false information, using bots and fake accounts to create an illusion of legitimacy. They also rely on fake giveaways, claiming affiliation with Ripple, to lure in unsuspecting victims.

In the case of XRP20, the scammers created websites and content that closely mimicked the Ripple brand, thereby misleading many into believing it was a genuine investment opportunity. Even Though they have mentioned that they are not associated with Ripple, there is something fishy about them.
