Two motorcycle riders died in separate two-vehicle traffic crashes Friday night in the metro area.
About 8:15 p.m., a rider died in a crash with an SUV at East Mexico Avenue and South Helena Street, the Aurora Police Department said in a news release.
The motorcyclist, a man on a Kawasaki, was driving eastbound on Mexico and the driver of an Infiniti FX35 was turning left from westbound Mexico onto southbound Helena when the crash happened, police said. The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet, died at the scene. The 18-year-old driver of the SUV was not injured. An investigation is ongoing.
Another motorcyclist, a woman, died in a crash with a car at East 104th Avenue and York Street, the Thornton Police Department said in an 11:23 p.m. tweet. She died at the scene and the driver of the car involved, also a woman, was taken to a hospital for minor injuries. The crash is under investigation.
