‘Thousands’ of crocodiles swarm beach sparking Bible prophecy fears

A beach has been invaded by possibly thousands of crocodiles leading to fears from local residents.

The beach in Brazil has found itself inundated with a massive amount of crocs with one person suggesting climate change could be to blame here for the massive reptiles laying on land.

A video of the creatures were taken and posted on Twitter and immediately went viral, amassing almost four million views.

Despite the video spreading like wildfire on social media, many people in the comment section questioned the validity of the claim that the crocodiles "invaded" the beach.

According to one user, certain information about the crocodiles was not included in the initial post.

They said: "These are yacare caiman, and like other crocodilians, they're ectothermic, or 'cold-blooded'. To raise their body temperature, they venture onto land, exposing themselves to direct sunlight.

"Additionally, this isn't a coastal beach, as shown in longer versions of the video."

Another user provided further information about the location in which the creatures were found.

"It's in the Pantanal Wetlands of Brazil, which are about 10 times the size of the Everglades and home to 10million caimans, and these are yacare caimans gathering around a water hole during the dry season to fish and cool down," the tweet said.

A Twitter user by the name of 'DrWildlife', echoed the thoughts of others previously as he said: "This is not an invasion, locals are not panicking.

"This 'beach' is part of the Pantanal aka the largest tropical wetland, as well as perhaps the most pristine, in the world. Oh, and, these are not crocodiles – they are Yacare caiman."
