- Ismail Adan, 19, crashed into a bus stop on Bute Street in Cardiff on March 30
This is the shocking moment a ‘boy racer’ smashed into a bus stop after clipping a traffic island, narrowly avoiding a pedestrian.
Ismail Adan, a 19-year-old driver from Grangetown, has avoided jail after the incident on Bute Street in Cardiff, which occurred at around 10pm on March 30.
Adan was driving a Vauxhall Mokka, apparently on the wrong side of the road, before he swerved to avoid another vehicle heading directly for him.
He moved back into the correct lane but clipped a traffic island, before taking out a post box and crashing into a bus stop – all while narrowly missing a pedestrian.
The teenager, who has no previous convictions, told police at the time that another car had come out of nowhere and caused him to swerve.

However he later pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and driving with no insurance.
Recorder Christian Jowett sentenced Adan to 12 months in prison suspended for 18 months at Cardiff Crown Court, meaning that he avoids jail.
Shocking video footage shows the moment he crashed into the bus stop, after tearing along the pavement.
Before hitting the post box, the CCTV clip shows Adan completely demolishing a post box at a fast speed, while the impact with the bus stop knocks out the glass panels and one of the seats.
The court also heard that Adan had a passenger in the car at the time.
Recorder Jowett said the defendant lacked maturity in the incident due to his young age.
He was also disqualified from driving and given costs of £420.
He was ordered to carry out a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement and to complete 200 hours of unpaid work.
