Police search river in hunt for missing woman, 22, who vanished from her home on Friday as detectives release CCTV of last known sighting

  • Sophie Lambert, 22, was last seen leaving her home address in Harrogate
  • She has been missing for four days now and police are searching a river 

Police have released the last known pictures of a young woman who vanished four days ago after leaving her home.

Sophie Lambert, 22, was last seen leaving her home address in Starbeck, Harrogate at 7.06pm on Friday night.

CCTV footage shows her to be wearing dark trousers, a black top with a white adidas logo, dark shoes with a white sole. She had her hair tied back and was carrying a bottle with a pink lid.

Concerns are growing for her welfare and North Yorkshire Police are currently making extensive house to house enquiries to help find her as well as searching Nidd Gorge and the river.

Police have released the last known CCTV of of Sophie in an effort to try and track her down

North Yorkshire Police say items belonging to Sophie have been found in the Gorge. It is understood one of them is her mobile phone.

Critical Incident Inspector Graham Walker said: ‘We are focusing on a search for a missing person that was reported to us on Friday evening.

‘We are looking into all possibilities as to what’s happened to Sophie Lambert.

‘She was reported missing at approximately 7pm by her family leaving her home address. There has been no positive sightings of her since.

‘It is very much an open investigation. A member of the public found items belonging to Sophie in the Nidd Gorge on Saturday morning.

‘As such we are that close to the river that we are looking to search focusing on the river at this time.

‘It is an open investigation but we request any member of the public who has any information or sighting of Sophie since Friday should contact us.’
