Mum furious at £165 fine ‘for blocking neighbour’s drive by millimetres’

A mum has been left outraged by a “ridiculous” parking fine after she blocked a neighbour's drive by millimetres.

She was slapped with a $283AUS (£165) sting for the infringement, which has split opinions over whether she was in the wrong or not.

From Sydney, the woman claimed she was met by a note telling her she’d been fined after what she described as only “dusting” the line of her neighbour’s driveway.

In a post which has now been deleted, she said: “This feels absolutely ridiculous and a complete money grab. Am I being unreasonable?

“My head is telling me to just pay the fine and be done but I feel like this is a real injustice?”

Others in her area, however, were quick to tell her she was in the wrong, claiming she was in fact in violation of the driveway.

While far from the offence of the century, her car was hanging over the line of the access point.

A narrow space can be seen, although whether or not it would be enough for her neighbours to get out is unknown.

According to the MailOnline, one neighbour said: “The only injustice would be not paying this fine.”

The law in New South Wales, Australia, says that driveways cannot be parked across unless you are picking up or dropping off passengers.
