Meghan Markle fans have criticised Princess Beatrice's decision to announce her pregnancy on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's third wedding anniversary.
Buckingham Palace revealed yesterday that Beatrice was expecting her first child yesterday – exactly three years after Prince Harry tied the knot with former actress Meghan.
The princess, 32, and husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi will welcome the baby in the autumn after they got hitched at a secret ceremony at All Saints Chapel, Windsor Great Park, in July last year.
"Her Royal Highness Princess Beatrice and Mr Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi are very pleased to announce that they are expecting a baby in autumn of this year," a Buckingham Palace statement said.
"The Queen has been informed and both families are delighted with the news."
But the timing of the announcement has angered many Sussex fans, with some taking to social media to vent their frustrations.
"Typical of those two to announce the news on Harry and Meghan’s anniversary! Talk about attention seeking!" one Twitter user said.
Another commented: "Why would she announce on their Wedding anniversary? They have 9 whole months to announce it…"
"It’s their anniversary," an angry fan posted. "The queen should have held off. And I don’t think Beatrice is that popular for millions to care any way [sic]."

However, while many showed their support to Harry and Meghan, others relished the apparent dig.
"Congratulations. Great timing of the announcement. Thunder stealing works both ways," one wrote on Twitter.
"I think that it was inevitable they were going to gob off today after Princess Beatrice & Edo’s great news, And I was so happy that they announced it on a date that pissed Off Ginger & Winger [sic] for a change! As per usual, it Haz to be ALL about them," another commented.
"It doesn't matter now, they are no longer in the same league as the Royals. The pregnancy announcement confirmed that for all the world to see. They now join the rest of the celebrities in the background 'entertainment news,'" a third user said.
Beatrice's firstborn will be the Queen's 12th great-grandchild, once Meghan gives birth to her and Harry's second child this summer.
