Man who ‘beat wife’s lesbian lover to death’ caught in brutal murder on dashcam

A man accused of beating his wife's lesbian lover to death was allegedly caught carrying out the brutal murder on the victim's dashcam.

Matthew Tyler Rekart, 33, was arrested and charged with one count of first-degree malice aforethought murder, according to court documents obtained by Law&Crime.

The alleged killer from Oklahoma, US, supposedly learned that Shayla Nicole Grant, 27, was sleeping with his wife.

He is accused of attacking her after making the discovery before staging a car accident to make it look as if her death was an accident.

Grant died after sustaining horrific head injuries.

Rekart seemingly didn't spot her car's dashcam and was allegedly recorded carrying out the gruesome killing. He could face the death penalty if found guilty.

The faked crash unravelled when Oklahoma Highway Patrol discovered Grant was travelling at 12mph following a review of the electronic data from her vehicle.

Suspicions had been raised already as the damage to her car did not reflect the serious injuries she had sustained.

An SD card from the dashcam was reportedly recovered by a medical examiner at the scene.

Police said the footage led to a disturbing revelation, with Rekart seen getting in the car before it drives to an abandoned house.

Then the camera begins to shake, indicating some sort of fight was taking place inside the vehicle.

Rekart is allegedly then seen taking several items to a shed before returning to the car.

KFSM reported that later the car was "rolled" into a railing at the location where authorities responded to reports of a car crash.

Tiffany Rekart, the accused killer's wife, reportedly told police she had informed her husband that she wanted a divorce.

It is believed Rekart lured the victim to his home using his wife's phone prior to the alleged attack.

Court records show Rekart pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder last week. He is scheduled to appear in court again in June.
