The five left lanes of eastbound Interstate 70 are closed due to a multiple-vehicle crash between Havana and Peoria streets.
The Colorado Department of Transportation announced the lane closure at 3:06 p.m.
“The accident happened in the middle lanes of the highway, leading to the shutdown,” said a spokesperson from the Denver Police Department. “One person was transported to a nearby hospital with unknown extent of injuries.”
According to Waze reports from multiple users, the crash is relatively minor but traffic headed east remains at a standstill as of 5:05 p.m.
Police are unsure when the lanes will re-open as of 5:15 p.m.
