Denver residents face blue skies, a mostly sunny day with rain showers here and there in the afternoon, intensifying at night with possible thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.
The high temperature in Denver will be 76 degrees, weather service forecasters said. Light wind blowing at about 11 miles per hour could gust at speeds up to 18 mph in the afternoon.
Across northern and northeastern Colorado, scattered rain showers are expected Monday afternoon, and more are likely later in the week. Some storms on the high plains Monday afternoon could bring wind gusting at speeds up to 40 miles per hour and small hail, forecasters said.
On Tuesday, the high temperature in Denver is expected to exceed 81 degrees.
The weather service issued a fire danger warning for Monday and Tuesday covering south-central Colorado and the southeastern plains where conditions are dry and wind is expected to raise risks.
