Nicola Sturgeon’s dreams of having an independent Scotland could be dashed by a new political campaign group, Alliance for Unity. The group, which was formed by former Labour MP George Galloway, has received a huge following on social media in just three weeks of its launch. During an Alliance for Unity broadcast on Twitter, Mr Galloway attacked the First Minister’s plan to have a draft bill for another referendum by early next year.
Mr Galloway said: “One of the consequences of this neverendum, this poisonous nationalist discourse which runs through every part of Scottish life now is that for nationalists at least speaking in the language of the meanest streets where no swear is left unused.
“Where guttural, feral language is substituted for the proper English for which we were once famous.”
The group plans to secure the defeat of the SNP in May 2021 with an impact the same as the Brexit Party in the European Parliament elections in 2019 where they secured 29 of the 73 seats secured by the UK.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, Mr Galloway said: “It will have the same impact on the elections as the Brexit Party.
“I hope that we’ll achieve the same result.
“Don’t forget a million people in Scotland voted for Brexit.
“I think if you judge it by the wailing and gnashing of teeth of national activists, they’re very concerned about it.”
Alliance for Unity intends to bring an “end to the Neverendum on Scotland’s future”.
Mr Galloway explained it is “a coalition Government that will get Scotland off the hamster wheel that we’ve been on for 13 years”.
He continued: “Our case is simple, the Scottish people have spoken.
“The referendum was literally called decisive in the Edinburgh agreement which established the referendum.
“Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon said a thousand times, maybe 5,000 times, that this was a ‘once in a generation referendum’, sometimes they even said ‘once in a lifetime’.
“But it hasn’t even been the lifetime of a domesticated rabbit and they speak of nothing else while ignoring the dreadful situation in Scotland’s care homes, hospitals, schools.

“All the big problems that Scotland faces are completely ignored in favour of them getting their ducks in a row to have another go.”
It comes as the First Minister was torn apart by new Scottish Conservative leader Douglas Ross who revealed she hasn’t visited his constituency, Moray, for two years while Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been there twice in eight months.
He told Times Radio: “The Prime Minister was up in my constituency just a couple of weeks ago, it’s his second visit to Moray in just eight months and I think it’s extremely encouraging that the Prime Minister gets out to all parts of the UK up to Moray.
“We haven’t seen Nicola Sturgeon, the First Minister, for two years in this part of Scotland. I want to change that.”
