Cryptocurrency market data site CoinMarketCap has released its first mobile application.
Launched in 2013, CoinMarketCap is a website for tracking capitalization of various cryptocurrencies. The website is aggregating prices of cryptocurrencies and calculating price averages that are displayed to users. According to Amazon’s Alexa, CoinMarketCap is currently the 174th most visited website globally, with over 60 million unique visits this year to date.
The new app is available from the iTunes Store free of charge and includes ads. It lets users sort by coin market cap ranking, name, price or price percentage change within 24 hours, and users can switch between all tokens, the top 100 or a ‘watchlist’ for specific tokens.
To celebrate their fifth anniversary, CoinMarketCap also redesigned its website and upgraded its API. The company said the new logo represents the CMC of CoinMarketCap and the ups and downs of the markets.
“We’ve given the site a fresh new look featuring colors and fonts designed to capture the essence of CoinMarketCap: simplicity and accuracy,” the company said. “We’ve added a new version of the public API that fixes some minor issues with V1. Also, our commercial API featuring historical data is on the way.”
“The space has really evolved in the past five years and so have we,” CEO Brandon Chez said in a statement. “So we thought for this anniversary, it would be nice to do something big for our users.”
