A Royal Navy sailor was today cleared of sexually assaulting a female RAF worker in the back of a taxi.
Able Seaman Martyn Glover was accused of moving his hand up the woman’s thigh and telling her to ‘come on’ when she resisted.
The sailor accepted touching the woman, insisting he had her consent, but denied sexually assaulting her in the cab.
Following a three-day trial at Bulford Military Court, Wiltshire AB Glover was acquitted of one count of sexual assault.
The pair had gone for a night out from an RAF base with a group of friends before returning in a taxi later on in the evening, the court heard.
Later on that evening, the woman claimed she had to ask AB Glover to leave her room having found him lying in her bed, the court was told.

The court heard that AB Glover and the woman – who cannot be named for legal reasons – had gone for a night out in Lincoln from nearby RAF Cranwell.
The pair – who had had consensual sex together weeks earlier after a camp party – visited several bars in the city with a group of colleagues and friends.
At the end of the night, the group went home in a seven-seater taxi and AB Glover was alone on the back row of seats with the woman.
The pair had initially kissed consensually, before AB Glover put his hand on her thigh, the court heard.
Giving evidence, she told the court: ‘He leant in to kiss me and I initially kissed him back.
‘I then pulled away [and] he started kissing my neck.
‘He started to touch my leg, he started moving it up and I said ‘no, people are here.’
‘I was trying to push his hand away, he went up and moved my knickers to the side.
‘I managed to close my legs.
‘I snapped my legs together. I felt so embarrassed.’

The court heard that after returning to camp, the group gathered in the woman’s room.
When she later returned from the toilet, she allegedly found AB Glover lying in her bed fully clothed.
The woman claimed she asked him to leave but he said no, and suggested she join him, the court heard.
She later attended a sexual assault referral centre and AB Glover – now based at HMS Nelson, Portsmouth, Hants – was interviewed by police under caution.
AB Glover was cleared of one count of sexual assault by a panel of Royal Navy officers.
