Authorities in Greenwood Village on Thursday morning exchanged gunfire with a suspected bank robber, who then barricaded themself in a nearby hotel.
Greenwood Village police responded around 10:45 a.m. to reports of a robbery at Key Bank, 9250 E. Arapahoe Road, town officials said on Twitter.
Officers then made contact with a suspect, resulting in an exchange of gunfire, officials said. No officer was injured in the exchange.
The suspect, who has not been identified, fled to and barricaded themselves in a nearby hotel. Authorities from Greenwood Village and the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office have surrounded the hotel as they attempt to make contact with the suspect, police said.
A reverse 911 call was activated.
The 18th Judicial District’s Critical Incident Response Team will investigate the police shooting portion of this incident.
