Man, 30s, arrested on suspicion of murder after female patient, 60s, is found dead in hospital in Cornwall | The Sun

A MURDER probe has been launched after the death of a female patient at a hospital in Cornwall.

Police were scrambled to Royal Cornwall Hospital Treliske at around 4.45pm yesterday.

Tragically the woman, aged in her 60s, couldn't be saved.

A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.

Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed the patient and suspect are known to each other.

They said the woman's death is currently being treated as "suspicious".

A spokesperson added: "Detectives have launched a murder investigation following the death of a woman last night [19 July] in Cornwall.

"Enquiries are ongoing to locate and inform her next of kin.

"A man in his 30s from the Par area has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody at this time.

"A cordon remains in place at a property in Par in connection to this matter."
