Brits are flocking to a seedy seaside town in Thailand where 'sex is easy' and cheap, but local strippers fly off the handle and batter blokes through jealousy.
On the face of it Pattaya, a city on Thailand’s eastern Gulf, is paradise. Perfect sandy beaches, sun almost all year round and more bars than a thirsty Brit could shake their stick at.
However, Pattaya has a murky underworld and its reputation is one of a sex tourism hotspot. The first port of call for unsuspecting travellers in the city is usually 'Walking Street,' a road lined with go go bars and women prowling up and down in the hopes of finding a Western partner.

Escape Artist, a magazine for people thinking of moving abroad, said the road is seedy and contributes to Thailand's overall negative reputation and Pattaya's reputation as 'Sin City'.
"It would be quite an unfortunate experience if a family of tourists were to accidentally stumble upon this part of town. Seductresses draped in crop tops and short shorts roam the bars on this street, and others like it," they wrote.
"They bat their false lashes and purse their cherry stained lips in the hopes of finding a Western husband who is able to provide them with a better life."
And sometimes the territorial girls can turn on each other, and on their prospective flames. British tourist, Jack Fitzmaurice, 28, found this out the hard way when he was caught up in a 'Wild West type bar room brawl'.
He was drinking with a girl when others became jealous at a strip club in Pattaya in the early hours of Sunday morning (November 19). A massive scrap then ensued, allegedly over who got which punter.

Jack reportedly tried to act as the Good Samaritan and split up the brawl when it was still in its early stages, but found himself in the eye of the storm – receiving blows from all angles.
The woman involved in the initial fight, Sunaree Tungprakhon, 35, told police that her argument with a fellow dancer had caused the initial fracas.
Nick Hodge, a fellow Brit who was in the bar at the time, said the fight started when two of the girls began arguing over who had dibs on the customer.
"There was hair being pulled and legs flying everywhere. Then the bar staff joined in and it became quite nasty. It was like a Wild West-type bar fight you see in the old movies. Just mad," he said.

The city was once a sleepy coastal village but over the last few decades has morphed into a depraved sex tourism destination where local women can earn more by selling themselves, mainly to British men.
One Brit called Darren runs a perverted blog called 'Pattaya Unlimited' where he says "sex is easy" and generally objectifies Thai women, despite having a Thai wife and children.
"What happens with girls in Pattaya, in girlie bars, adult nightlife venues, and naughty massage parlours, is what Pattaya is most famous for, why it’s been dubbed 'Sin City,' and why most men visit Pattaya for the first time," he wrote.
He also candidly admits that "the pursuit of girls and sex, whether at bars and naughty nightlife venues, massage parlours, or online, will account for much of your time and most of your expenditure while on vacation in Pattaya."

He name checks 'Walking Street' as a hotspot and says 'a girl for the night' will set you back 6000 baht, the equivalent of around £136. Darren insists he is 'just passing on a few helpful tips for travellers'.
Writing about the destination in 2010, none other than the New York Times declared: "If Las Vegas is Sin City, Pattaya is a bear hug from Lucifer himself."
However, the city administration has made an effort to clean up its act, or at least airbrush its reputation. Pattaya has a growing number of fancy restaurants, an annual music festival and even regular polo tournaments.
“There are people who say Pattaya is the paradise of criminals,” said Col. Atiwit Kamolrat, the head of the immigration police in 2010. “It’s now going to be impossible for them to hide here.”
