Russia: Footage allegedly shows jet carrying Prigozhin shot down

Insane footage from the private jet that crashed and killed all ten, possibly including Wagner Group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin, has been shared with Daily Express US.

In the stark clip, the destroyed remains and debris of the plane can be seen scattered across the ground with flames and smoke seeping out.

The business jet was en route from Moscow to St. Petersburg and crashed on Wednesday, reports claim.

Russia’s civilian aviation regulator, Rosaviatsia, said Prigozhin was on the passenger list. However, it was not immediately clear if he had boarded the flight.

Russia’s state news agency Tass cited emergency officials as saying that the plane carried three pilots and seven passengers. The authorities said they were investigating the crash, which occurred in the Tver region more than 100 kilometers (60 miles) north of Moscow.

Oleksandr, a Ukrainian military surgeon, told Daily Express US: “Prigozhin wanted to make another coup in the country.

“The second version is to initiate your own death and hide. Maybe the Russians killed him?”

Victor Tregubov, a Major in Ukraine’s Armed Forces, told Daily Express US: “The problem here is that I cannot perceive Russian official sources as trustable. So there are many options here. It could be staged.

“If it is not staged, it could be coincidence (highly unlikely) or assassination (very likely). If it’s assassination, it’s like telling to all the Russians ‘this it what happens if you try to move tanks to Moscow”.

Prigozhin, whose private military force Wagner fought alongside Russia’s regular army in Ukraine, mounted a short-lived armed mutiny against Russia’s military leadership in late June.

The Kremlin said he would be exiled to Belarus, and his fighters would either retire, follow him there, or join the Russian military.

Tregubov said that if the reports of the leader’s death are true, then “it is the end of Wagner project”.

A Russian military blogger puported to be Wagner Group member wrote on Telegram: “It is not yet clear whether Hero of Russia Yevgeny Viktorovich Prigozhin was on board, but if he was, then pack your things, and fuck this whole war we DO NOT NEED.”

Wagner-linked Telegram channel Grey Zone reported earlier today that the jet was shot down by air defences in Tver region, north of Moscow.

Commenting on reports that Russian air defense shot down the plane, Oleksandr, the military surgeon, told Daily Express US: “Russian soldiers are very mean.

“Very often they kill their fellows so as not to waste time on evacuation. Ukrainians evacuate even the most hopeless.
