ENTIRE Victoria Line is suspended due to 'power supply problems'

Travel misery on London Underground after ENTIRE Victoria Line suspended due to ‘power supply problems’ as tube stations evacuated and Piccadilly line with severe delays

  • ‘Power supply problems’ caused delays on London Underground this morning
  • The entire Victoria Line was suspended earlier with no trains running at all
  • Trains halted on the Picadilly Line between Hyde Park Corner and Cockfosters
  • It comes as mourners head into London to pay their respects to the Queen

London Underground services suffered severe disruption this morning due to ‘power supply problems’, Transport for London (TfL) said.

Tube stations were evacuated and closed due to the problem.

The issue meant there were no trains are running on the entire Victoria line at rush hour earlier.

The Piccadilly line was suspended between Hyde Park Corner and Cockfosters, with severe delays on the rest of the line. The Northern Line was also hit by delays.

Following difficulties reported by commuters, TfL confirmed that services had resumed on all three lines – although there are still delays on the Piccadilly Line.

A TfL spokesperson said: “We apologise to Piccadilly, Northern and Victoria line customers for the disruption to their journeys this morning.

‘This was caused by a temporary loss of power at a number of locations across the network. Engineers are working as quickly as possible to restore a normal service.’

The disruption comes as TfL is warning that some of its services will be busier than normal with many people visiting London to pay their respects and attend ceremonial and commemorative events following the death of the Queen.
