An adorable dog has been "ripped to pieces" in front of her mortified owner's very eyes.
Adelle, who did not want to give her surname, has been left "traumatised" after a gentle stroll with her beloved 12-year-old Shih Tzu, Bailey, ended in a bloody attack.
What looked like an American bulldog bolted out of a house on Clint Way in Edge Hill, Liverpool and charged at little Bailey who Adelle, 41, tried her best to desperately defend.

Shrugging off Adelle's attempts to grab and hit it, the bully-type beast would not stop "ragging" Bailey even after he laid dead in the middle of the street.
Adelle, from Edge Hill, told theECHO: "I take the dog there everyday because it's like our safe place, there's normally only another little Shih Tzu there, it's not like there's any other dogs in the park.
"We've been walking past and they have obviously just opened the door and let the dog out without checking if the gate was closed.
"The dog has just grabbed on to Bailey and was just ragging him. I was fighting with the dog then trying to get the dog off Bailey but it just went on for ages and ages and ages.
"It was not letting go, after it was over he still wouldn't let go of Bailey and he was just ragging him. I couldn't breath, I just phoned my mum and I shouldn't have because I didn't want her to see her dog being ragged around like that, it's her little boy."
When Adelle's mum came over she was "screaming and crying" while hitting the dog to try and get it off Bailey.
She continued: "Me mum's hysterical crying and has ran home and got a golf club and gone to the house where the dog lives and knocked at the door. She had the golf club down, but against the wall, and police opened the door.
"They arrested my mum and put her in a van. Bailey was dead on the floor in little pieces and I just started screaming because I was so upset."
She said: "Nobody else can go through this because it's absolutely shocking. My mum is just crying permanently, the house is just not the same and I can't stop thinking about the attack.
