A desparate father was forced to throw his children out of the window of his burning home.
Jay Payne, 26, begged neighbours to catch his daughters, seven and four, before dropping them some 30ft.
He and his wife then followed out of the window in a manic bid to escape the inferno in Somerset Court, Gosport, Hampshire.
Jay threw a mattress out of the window first in a bid to soften the blow and then dropped his kids out into the arms of neighbours below.

A neighbour, Matthew, said: “He was pleading with anybody, ‘please somebody, please help me, somebody please catch my children, somebody please help us'.
“It was awful, somebody fearing for their life.
"He dropped the first girl and I caught her under her armpits, a pretty straight sort of catch.
"He dropped the second girl afterwards and along with another neighbour we sort of broke her fall together."
Other people had already managed to evacuate after the fire, which is being investigated as a possible arson attack, broke out.
Firefighters arrived to put the fire out shortly afterwards but four people were taken to hospital with burns.
However, 23 people were saved, as were three cats and four dogs.
Jay said: “The whole flat has gone – we’ve got nothing left.”
He added: “We'd woken up to the fire alarm, I opened the door and flames and smoke came through.
“The whole place went black. We were screaming at the top of our lungs for someone to help us.
“I chucked a mattress out the window and threw my kids out and then my wife and myself jumped.
“It was very traumatising…my four-year-old daughter has burns up her arms from her fingertips to her shoulders.”
