Fog, low-hanging gray clouds, drizzle and rain scattered across Colorado’s Front Range mountain foothills and cities Friday will keep roads wet and bring moisture to the high plains, leading to a warmer weekend with sunshine, according to the National Weather Service.
The high temperature in Denver will be 63 degrees Friday, increasing to 73 degrees Saturday and 76 degrees Sunday, weather service forecasters said. On Friday afternoon, metro Denver residents likely will face rain showers and thunderstorms, bringing winds that could gust at speeds as fast as 15 miles per hour.
Mostly sunny weather was expected Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, residents likely will face rain and possible thunderstorms in the afternoon, and more rain is possible on Sunday afternoon, forecasters said.
Stormier conditions are expected in the high mountains along the Continental Divide in western Colorado with thunderstorms likely on Friday and over the weekend.
The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment on Friday morning warned of possible deteriorating air quality in Denver, Colorado Springs and communities across northeastern Colorado –and issued a health advisory.
