One of the UK's top female wrestlers has appealed to the BBC to let her be the UK's entry for Eurovision 2023.
The top singing competition is taking place in Liverpool in May as last year's winning country Ukraine was unable to host due to Russian President Vladimir Putin's invasion of the country.
And with the BBC rumoured to be announcing the United Kingdom's entry into the popular competition at the end of this week, PROGRESS Wrestling women's champion Lana Austin has made a last ditch attempt to convince BBC bosses that she should be the one to represent the country.

Lana, who beat Kanji for the title at the end of 2022, has emailed the corporation to make the plea.
The email, which the Daily Star has seen – no joke, this is actually genuine – reads: "My name is Lana Austin – you may have heard of me.
“You will be thankful to know that I am willing to be the UK’s nominee for Eurovision 2023, it doesn’t matter who you have currently got or who you have in mind as I am soooooo happy to say and declare that I am a winner and the best singer in the UK!
“Look forward to your reply with the good news
“Love from the Superstar Lana Austin.”
The former WWE NXT UK star has been gracing fans across the country with her singing in recent months, alongside backing singers and Lana Austin Experience group members LA Taylor and Skye Smitson.
Most of her PROGRESS appearances now involve Lanaoke, where she sings her favourite songs before going on to compete.
One of the rules of Eurovision is that the song you enter has to be something unreleased, which is why the Friends superfan has chosen the iconic tune Smelly Cat.

She said: “I am the UK's version of Mariah Carey.
“The fans deserve to see it and the world deserves to see it.
“I've sent my email to the BBC, and I'm hoping for a reply – I better get a reply . . .”
Her hopes of entering have been backed by PROGRESS co-owner, and one of the top bosses at League Two football club Tranmere Rovers, Lee Mcateer.
He said: “I was lost for words when I first received the email that our women’s PROGRESS World Champion Lana Austin had put her name forward to officially represent the UK at Eurovision.

“But the more I thought about it, the more I realised that I am not shocked at all.
“We always support our talent as much as we possibly can do, so this will be no different.
“In most years the UK gets nil points in Eurovision so she will be in good company if she ends up being the UK representative, as I have no doubt she will also get the same amount of points as we normally do.
“I am curious as to what Skye Smitson and LA Taylor will be like as backing singers, but nevertheless, I am sure all fans of Eurovision will end up with the same opinion as me and become truly passionate about the Lana Austin Experience for many many reasons.”
