Priti Patel issued a stinging attack on Liz Truss’s spending plans today as she warned “the Conservative Party lives or dies by its ability to manage the nation’s finances”.
In her first speech since leaving Government, the former Home Secretary appeared to take a swipe at the Prime Minister for borrowing £60billion to pay for her tax cuts.
Speaking at a fringe event at the Conservative party conference, she warned that the UK must “prioritise sustainable spending and good management”.
