Tim Davie admits regret over Gary Lineker affair
Carol Vorderman has been mocked by one of her main targets after she was sacked by the BBC for breaching their social media policy by using her platform to attack Conservatives on social media.
Felicity Cornelius-Mercer, the wife of Veterans Minister Johnny Mercer, posted a message celebrating BBC Wales’s decision to ditch the former Countdown Star.
Posting a picture of Vorderman on X, formerly Twitter, Mrs Mercer added the message “Binned by BBC” with an emoji of a waste basket.
The message came after the two women have had a long-running feud with Ms Vorderman trolling the MP’s wife describing her and her husband as “grifters”.
Ms Vorderman even caused huge controversy and was castigated in Parliament when she mocked Mrs Mercer for not having a degree and working as a lifeguard.

The bad blood between the two infamous led to Mr Mercer having a meltdown in the green room about Vorderman ahead of an episode of BBC Question Time.
Questions have been asked for months over how the BBC could continue to claim it is impartial while employing Vorderman when she was conducting a longrunning campaign against the Conservatives including promoting a tactical voting campaign.
Now the BBC has acted against Vorderman, others asked why Match of the Day presenter Gary Lineker is allowed to stay in his job.
Just last week Lineker launched another attack on Home Secretary Suella Braverman and expressed his support for pro-Palestinian protest marches which have included supporters of the terrorist group Hamas.
GB News presenter Nana Akua said: “The BBC have finally done something right and sacked #carolvorderman. What took them so long??!! #GaryLineker next…?”

Campaigners against the BBC licence fee were not sympathetic with Ms Vorderman’s plight.
Defund the BBC posted: “Oh dear, what a shame another rich celebrity is throwing their toys out the pram because they can’t force their political opinions on ordinary people due to impartiality rules.
“Don’t let the door hit you on the way out Carol! #DefundTheBBC.”
The BBC has recently rewritten its social media policy to allow star presenters to Tweet on issues which are important to them.
However, Vorderman’s political rants went too far.
In a series of Tweets announcing her departure, Ms Vorderman said: “I have now breached the new guidelines and BBC Wales management has decided I must leave. We each must make our decisions.
“I’m sad to have to leave the wonderful friends I’ve made at Radio Wales. I wish them, and all of our listeners, all the love in the world. We laughed a lot, and we will miss each other dearly.
“But for now, another interesting chapter begins.”
