The UK's "safest" village has been inundated with a wave of "lard attacks" which has seen the pig fat product smeared over public areas.
The greasy crime has troubled those in the village of Bocastle, with elderly residents left terrified by the events unfurling as gangs of youths terrorise the streets, with police now involved.
Although its National Trust-esque views are still intact, the area has become the site of bizarre attacks and lard-based antics from a group causing unrest in the village.

Residents are now voicing their disgust and second-guessing whether the area is a safe place to live in after all.
Landlords of the Cobweb Inn, Andrew Bright, said residents now "never really know" whether they are safe while wife Tracey wondered whether all the incidents were actually reported to police.
She said: "It's spates of pulling down walls, upsetting older people, breaking wing mirrors, throwing stones at cars in car parks.
"It's been the last six months really and it is upsetting for the older people up in the village and those being targeted. It's just not nice."

A parish council statement has since aired reports of a lard attack on play area, with the "vandalism" now reported to the Force.
The statement read: "On Sunday (August 20) a member of the public found the play area equipment vandalised. The swing, slide and climbing bars had been smeared with lard.
"The vandalism has been reported to the police. Fortunately, a local resident cleared the mess up late on Sunday so it should all be usable again."
Hazel Beetles, 66, a resident of Bocastle, added: "I think it's a real shame they feel they have to do that. But other than that it is very rare that we have trouble from anyone – adults, children or visitors."
