Meghan Markle left royal fans confused when they spotted an unfamiliar symbol on the bottom of her shoe.
Joining her royal in-laws at the Palace of Westminster to pay her respects to the late Queen Elizabeth II, the Duchess of Sussex was shrouded in black, including a pair of elegant heels.
But when she curtseyed at Her Majesty's coffin, fans noticed a strange symbol on the sole of her shoe, made up of three straight lines and one curved one, all overlapping.

Spectators were quick to wonder what the symbol meant, with some speculating that it could have been a personal tribute to her husband's late grandmother or just a personalised addition to the slick heels.
However, it has now been revealed what the markings really mean, thanks to eagle-eyed fashion experts.
The classic shoes are made by Paul Andrew, a luxury fashion designer who designs his hand-crafted Italian shoes from his base in New York – and the designer's name is the inspiration for the "P" and "A" symbols on the soles of Meghan's heels.
Fashionistas reckon she's wearing his Pump It Up Heels – a style she has worn before for a royal engagement in Ireland before she and Harry left the Royal Family.

Meghan also wore a pair of pearl and diamond earrings given to her by Her Majesty as a gift before their first joint engagement in 2018.
The gorgeous jewels were almost identical to the ones the Queen wore for the occasion.
Meghan was spotted in the all-black outfit as she joined Harry and other members of the Royal Family, including Kate and Will, the new Prince and Princess of Wales, as the Queen's coffin made its way from Buckingham Palace to Westminster Hall to lie-in-state for four days.
During the procession she travelled by car with the Sophie Wessex, who made a touching "peacemaker" gesture to the Duchess yesterday.
Meanwhile, Kate Middleton and the Queen Consort travelled in a separate vehicle.
