The Spanish island of Ibiza was gripped by an unusual incident as the lifeless body of a man living in a cave near Ramón Muntaner street in Vila was discovered.
The deceased, a local resident, chose an open cave near hotel complexes as his dwelling, adding a layer of mystery to the case.
Responding to a tip-off at 7:45pm local time on Monday November 21, security patrols and the Ibiza Local Police investigated, leading to the National Police calling the fire brigade around 11pm for the body’s evacuation due to its location with a two-metre drop.

A specialised team, including two firefighters and a Vertical Rescue Group (GRV) vehicle, successfully retrieved the body after more than three hours.
Unfortunately, the advanced state of decomposition hindered immediate identification.
The National Police Force is now leading the investigation into this peculiar incident.
The body, found in a state of “skeletonisation,” is believed to be that of a foreigner. The cause of death remains unknown, with no traumatic damage observed during the retrieval.
