A mum beat her teenage son to death and left his rotting corpse to decompose in her home, a court has heard.
Kenya Stallworth stands accused of murdering her 19-year-old son Dominic Allen after police discovered his remains in a bedroom of her apartment in December last year.
Officers were called by Stallworth's husband Robert Robb, who reported a body in the property.
His body was in such a bad condition that DNA was needed to identify him, WXIX reported.
Prosecutors said the teen was killed between late September and early October.
They also claimed Stallworth and Dominic's stepdad Robb, both of Cincinnati, Ohio in the US, then covered the body with a pile of clothes and kept the bedroom closed to stop the smell as the corpse decomposed.
Stallworth, who appeared in court on Thursday, was also charged with felonious assault. She denies both charges, according to WKRC.
She was previously charged with trying to conceal his body.
The teen was initially reported missing after he vanished.
Dominic's distraught dad, Marcus Allen, told WKRC he demanded justice.
“Not phony justice,” he said. “I want justice. I want them to be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. They took my son from me.”

He added: "The first thing that came to my mind was, 'What was going through your head when you did whatever you did?
"What happened for all of this to take place like this to the point where you all not only hide him under a pile of dirty clothes, you all sealed him in his bedroom?'"
WXIX added that Stallworth's next hearing was on April 28. Robb remains in jail on the original charges.
Marcus said his son was "a gift that God gave" him.
"He loved helping everybody. He was a wonderful child. He was a happy child … I am proud to be his father," he said.
Stallworth is expected to return to court on April 28. Robb remains in jail after being charged with gross abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence.
The case continues.
