Michael Barrymore’s extraordinary version of Coolio’s 1981 hit C U When U Get There has become a massive hit online after the singer’s sudden death at the age of 59.
The clip, taken from a 1999 episode of the television presenter’s show My Kind of Music, shows Michael Barrymore singing alongside a gospel choir.
It has been uploaded to the comedy Twitter account called Accidental Partridge – where users post clips showing public figures doing things which seem in keeping with comedy character Alan Partridge’s behaviour.
The account tweeted this morning to say, ‘Rest in peace, Coolio,’ alongside the footage of Mr Barrymore after the news broke that the musician had been found unresponsive on the bathroom floor of a friend’s house in Los Angeles.
The singer, whose real name is Artis Leon Ivey Jr, was pronounced dead at the scene and it is believed he suffered a cardiac arrest.

Gone too soon: The musician – famous for his hit song Gangsta’s Paradise – was visiting a friend on Wednesday afternoon when he was found dead (Pictured 10 days ago)
The clip of Michael Barrymore shows him interacting with the gospel choir before winking and nodding at different members and then getting on stage with them.
He then sings and dances with them, continually raising his hands to the ceiling in time with the song.
Mr Barrymore then proceeds to dance, seemingly slightly out of time with the song.
Twitter users were quick to comment under the humorous video with one writing: ‘I’ve never made it more than 40 seconds into this, having to abandon lest I literally cringe myself inside out.’
While another wrote: ‘Some day I’m going to make it all the way through this video. But not today.’
To which another user jokingly responded with lyrics from the song: ‘We’ll see you when you get there.’

Passing: EMTs pronounced Coolio dead on the scene and an autopsy is now underway to establish the official cause of death – though law enforcement sources shared that ‘no drugs or drug paraphernalia were found at the scene’
The clip, which was originally posted to Twitter on Monday by Matt Lucas, has been viewed 2.5million times by users across the world coming to pay tribute to Coolio in a humorous way.
The West Coast legend is survived by his ex-wife, Josefa Salinas, whom he married in 1996. The former couple split four years later after having four children.
He is reported to have between six and 10 children in total with multiple women. His known children include Grtis Ivey, Brandi Ivey, Milan Ivey, Darius Ivey, Zhaneand Ivey, Jackie Ivey, Kate Ivey, Shayne Ivey, Artisha Ivey, and Artis Ivey III.
Coolio was recently seen performing on stage during Riot Fest 2022 at Douglass Park on September 18, in Chicago, Illinois, and just four days ago he took to Instagram to share his latest performance in Texas.
He was also seen looking healthy earlier in April at the airport in Sydney where he generously stopped to take photos with fans, ahead of his concert at Luna Park.
