A 10th male has pleaded not guilty to murder over the death of 15-year-old Solomone Taufeulungaki and will join his co-accused in standing trial.
Soreysa Jibrael, 23, pleaded not guilty to murder, affray and other charges during a short appearance via a video link before Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday.
Mr Jibrael is the second man, along with eight teenage boys, to have pleaded not guilty to murder over the death of Solomone, who was stabbed to death on June 16 last year during a brawl outside the Brimbank Shopping Centre in Deer Park.
Taataa Tafa, 21, has previously pleaded not guilty, as have the boys, who are aged between 14 and 17 and cannot be named.
A ninth boy, aged 14 and the last of those charged with murder, still has his case before a children’s court. He is yet to enter a plea.
Mr Jibrael, Mr Tafa and the eight boys who have pleaded not guilty all waived their right to a pre-trial hearing.
They are all due to appear before the Supreme Court on February 26 when a date for their trial will be set.
The two men remain in custody but all nine boys are on bail.
