Inside disgusting UK brothel with rotting condoms and scattered pregnancy tests

Grim photos show the horrible scenes inside an abandoned brothel that has kept the same lingering smell of sweat and urine since it was first deserted more than three years ago.

The old City Sauna, on Attercliffe Road in Sheffield, appeared in Channel 4 documentary A Very British Brothel in 2015 and the ITV documentary A Very Yorkshire Brothel in 2019.

But the building, that was first opened as a boozer two centuries ago, was abandoned as the venue moved further down the road before the ITV documentary aired, reports Yorkshire Live.

It has since been visited by urban explorers who call themselves “Lost & Forgotten Faces”.

They published a series of photos on Facebook describing their experiences of entering the grotty brothel for the first time.

“I quickly got an idea of what went on here, with old condoms in the showers and stained mattresses,” they wrote.

“You name it, this place was as seedy as it gets! One of the rooms had a very peculiar odour which must have been lingering for years.

“Sort of a mixture of urine and sweat. Not pleasant at all.”

Stomach-churning photos show a used condom discarded in a minging shower that is covered in yellow stains and hair.

Other snaps show discarded pregnancy tests strewn about the floor and a grotty mattress covered in rotting wood and dirt.

The images include a "Naughty Boys’ Room" as well as mundane items including a shopping list and a supply of HP Sauce.

A Very British Brothel featured the daily workings of the "sauna", which was run by a mum and daughter, Cath and Jenny.

It gave viewers a behind-the-scenes look at all aspects of the business, from how they drew up the daily rotas all the way through to the unusual customers and the odd requests they had.

Some men who used City Sauna just popped in for tea and a chat, while others had bizarre requests including being dressed up as babies.

Oddly enough, the brothel even ran a Christmas raffle, with everyone who entered getting a mince pie.

Despite the house being abandoned for years, the operations still continue in an established sex zone in Sheffield.
