The CCTV footage suggests the victim had just got out of a taxi and it has been claimed the driver could have tipped the robbers off to a promising target.

The incident happened in the early hours of November 8 after the victim had reportedly spent the evening at an upmarket London club.

The footage was shared on Facebook on November 11 with the caption: ‘Seems as though the [cab] driver is in on it.

‘It’s the third one with [the] same setup. Others happened in Hertfordshire and Stevenage.

‘The [cab] driver collects ride from upmarket London night spot this time arts club.

‘Checks out the customer in terms of obvious signs of wealth (40k watch) and how p***** they are, then messages the gang to give them address he’s heading too.

‘When he pulled up at [victim’s], he put his hazards on which is the sign for the robbers to strike.

‘The driver had been texting loads on the journey too. Clearly the [cab] driver [is] probably part of gang and has got the job as a [cab] driver under false identity. Warning really to all of us going forward.’
