A defendant suspected of committing multiple lewd acts and unlawful sexual contact against multiple women on Jefferson County park trails, some while he was allegedly nude, has been charged with five felony counts.
Glenn Thompson Braden, 20, of Evergreen, has been charged with four counts of unlawful sexual contact and one count of criminal attempt to commit sexual assault, all felonies, according to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office. Braden faces 15 counts in all, including nine counts of indecent exposure, a class 1 misdemeanor. He’s also charged with criminal mischief, a petty offense.
Braden is a defendant in eleven separate incidents between April 3 and Aug. 8, a DA’s office news release said. He is accused of committing the crimes on trails in Flying J Ranch Park, Alderfer/Three Sisters Park, and Genesee Mountain Park in Jefferson County, targeting women who were mostly hiking alone.
Braden was arrested Aug. 8 by sheriff’s deputies after an incident was reported, and a brief pursuit unfolded, near Stapleton Drive in Genesee Park.
Braden appeared in court on Friday and was advised of the felony charges against him. His bond is set at $100,000. Braden told investigators that he felt “compelled” to commit the sex crimes, according to an arrest affidavit.
His next court appearance is scheduled on Aug. 17.
