Fugitive 'killer' Casey White held me and my friends at gunpoint – my dog saved my life but I fear he'll hunt me down

A MAN who was held at gunpoint by fugitive "killer" Casey White was saved by his dog but now fears he'll be hunted down.

Alabama man Charles Abernathy said White was another "Charles Manson" and "Ted Bundy" and is extremely violent.

"He will literally do anything and everything, including killing, including kidnapping, including killing animals and putting children in danger, to get what he wants," he told The Post on Thursday.

"And of all people to escape, this dude is probably the worst level that you could possibly let escape.

"You’ve got like Manson and you’ve got friggin’ like Bundy and all these crazy people. He is on that level for me."

The 37-year-old testified against White in a 2019 trial on attempted murder and kidnapping charges from a 2015 crime spree and is now worried the deranged crim will "hunt" him down after escaping from Lauderdale County prison a week ago.

Corrections officer ‘faked court appointment to help murder suspect escape’

Casey and his alleged co-accomplice, 56-year-old corrections officer Vicky White, have been missing since last Friday.

Charles said White was "good enough to not be caught," and that he stalked his home days before breaking in.

"He’s very hunter-like," Charles said recounting the horror incident in which White stormed into his Athens home in December 2015 toting a gun in each hand.

The man said White had suddenly burst through his door with a plan to kiss his ex-girlfriend, who had been living at the home.

As the woman's kids slept in the basement, White chased after her and held her, Charles and his boyfriend at gunpoint.

They were told to lay face down when Charles' dog Missy Britches, a bloodhound and German shepherd mix, burst into the room and bit White, starling him enough to give the trio time to escape.

White's ex bolted out the back door while Charles and his partner fled through a bathroom window.

"Missy Britches, she ran. She heard what was going on … she is the true heroine of the story. Why, she saved our lives," Charles said.

"If it wouldn’t have been for her, I am 99.999% sure we would have died that night. Actually, no, I’m 100% sure we would probably died that night."

Tragically, Missy Britches was shot multiple times by White and died before help could arrive.

"[She was] super loyal, she would never bite a soul," said as he can to cry.

"We buried her actually on that land as well, because we felt like … she was, you know, a protector there and she still is, I think."

White was arrested later that night following an hours-long standoff with police and was later convicted in 2019 and sentenced to 75 years behind bars.

Charles – who had never met White before that fateful night – is now in hiding and fearing for his safety.

He warned White liked wearing camouflage and would be tough for US Marshals to catch.

"If I had the means, I would pack my stuff and get my dog and I would go as far as possible from the state of Alabama," Charles said.

Regarding White's alleged co-accomplice Vicky, he said: "What I’m afraid of is she’s not even alive anymore.

"To me, she was a means to an end."

It comes as the son whose mother was allegedly stabbed to death by the now-escaped convict urged the public to stay out of his way because White is "incredibly violent" and there's "no limit to what he may do".

The pair, who are not related, left the jail at 9.14am with Vicky telling her colleagues she was escorting White to a mental evaluation at a nearby courthouse – but no such appointment had been scheduled.

Austin Williams, whose mother was stabbed to death, told The US Sun he is in fear for his own safety as well as the safety of the general public while White remains at large.

He said: "He's a very dangerous person with a violent history and anyone who comes into contact with [Casey White and Vicky White] needs to contact 911 right away.
