Cleethorpes Community Policing Team released an E-fit of a suspect wanted for allegedly trying to breaking into a house.
The E-Fit soon became the topic of ridicule, with its resemblance to Sky Sports presenter Chris Kamara.
Kammy was inundated with messages asking what he was doing in Cleethorpes.
And the beloved Soccer Saturday pundit even issued a hilarious response.
When asked where he was Kamara joked: “I don’t know Jeff.”
Kamara, 61, even posted a picture of himself dressed up in builders gear, like the police suspect.
“Please don’t be alarmed if you see me out and about this afternoon, I am working.”
Facebook users also joked about the suspect’s resemblance to Lionel Richie, or a member of the Village People.
“I don’t know Jeff”
Commenting on the post, one wrote: “Hello, is it me you’re looking for?”
Another added: “Someone ought to tell him there’s no need to feel down, pick yourself off the ground, just because your in a new town there’s no need to be unhappy.”
One joked: “When did Chris Kamara join YMCA?”
And another said: “Ring Chris Kamara, he might be able to help.”
Former footie star Chris shot to fame after an episode of Soccer Saturday, where he completely missed a sending off at a game he was reporting on, commenting “I don’t know Jeff,”
This by far from the first police e-fit to be mocked online.
Kryten from Red Dwarf, Darth Vader, a ninja and Kenny from South Park have all been compared to police e-fits.
CCTV released of a thief in Blackpool went viral around the world, with the suspect being compared to Ross from Friends.
