Boy, 17, killed in 'single-vehicle collision' as three others taken to hospital in horror smash in Surrey

A TEENAGER has died in a single-vehicle collision in a horror smash in Surrey.

Cops are appealing for witnesses after the incident left three others injured.

Emergency services rushed to the scene in Effingham at 11.30pm last night.

A Surrey Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for witnesses after there was a single-vehicle collision at around 11.30pm yesterday evening, on the A246 in Effingham.

"Sadly a 17-year-old boy was declared dead at the scene and his next of kin have been made aware.

"His family are being supported by specialist officers.

"Three other people were taken to hospital, one with serious injuries.

"The road is currently closed in both directions, but should be re-opened by around 9am.
