George Soros is in bitcoin, Dante’s in Bitcorn Crops and Hal Finney’s in cryostasis — all digital asset prices are rising and falling in sync and all’s well in the world. Unless, that is, you’re Sergey Mavrodi — the legendary Ponzi operator who not only founded the MMM investment scam, but did it in 1980s Soviet Russia. Junseth’s World this week brings us the poignant news that a heart attack had finally achieved what financial regulators never could, putting Mavrodi out of business for good.
When All You Have Is a Head, You Need a Brain Wallet
Mavrodi’s long-running MMM may or may not have driven the BTC price up in the late twenty-teens. However it’s notable to the three hosts of Junseth’s World thanks to its founder’s open admission that MMM was a pyramid scheme, to which people voluntarily donated. As scam-ridden as the crypto world can be, few of its denizens are so brazen.
Eventually we all have to leave this world and Mavrodi now has… we think. Given he was the Andy Kaufman of global finance no-one will ever know for sure. This gets the JW crew onto the topic of cryonic preservation, and the necessity of a bitcoin brain wallet if the only vessel you have to carry your soul into the future is a head. “That’s where I’m going,” says Dante.
Till then, though, Dante continues to farm his Bitcorn Crops. The crypto collectibles game now has a ton of new features that make it “the new Rare Pepe” says Dante. Junseth adds that he “really loves it”.
What the heck are we talking about here? Listen to the whole episode to find out this, and more, like: who of Craig Wright and Vitalik Buterin makes a tastier word salad; why the YouTube shooter was a better YouTuber than a shooter; and how the street has found its own use for Instagram — as a replacement for Backpage.
For the Uninitiated: WTF Is Junseth’s World?
JW hosts Junseth, Dante and Shaun are Bitcoin’s Florida Men. Dante allegedly gets all his news from one source. However Junseth doesn’t do reciprocals and doesn’t suck anyone’s d*ck — much to the relief of the Bitsonline editors.
Spawned from the greater Miami area blockchain scene, the three reluctant sitcom housemates embody that region’s unique approach to business. They’ve seen and done things for Bitcoin you probably never imagined … and some you wished you could un-imagine.
Somewhere in the banter, you actually get a good education and some surprisingly useful insights into the world of finance, trading, business and economics. Subscribe to the entire series on Soundcloud.
