Welcome Rachael Horwitz, Coinbase Vice President of Communications
Earlier, Rachael Horwitz worked for Coinbase investor – Spark Capital where she was a partner at the firm responsible for communications and marketing and performing functions of a portfolio founders advisor. Prior to joining Spark Capital, Rachael worked for Facebook as a Director of Technology Communications.
Before going to Facebook, Rachael devoted 4 years of her life to working at Twitter, where her task was to develop the company’s narrative and enhance the communications team. When she came to Twitter, its staff was only around 400 employees, and she greatly contributed to its process of massive growth and helped to guide the company through its initial public offering.
Coinbase is striving for creating an open financial system for the world. The team is doing its best to implement new innovations that will support efficiency and economic freedom for more members of the society. Exactly with a view to reach this goal, the company supposes that its task is to help all communities to understand the specificity of this fast-developing sphere and to obtain access to knowledge about it.
And Rachael Horwitz is believed to be the right person to provide the company with her assistance in fulfillment of this task. She is also satisfied with a new step in her career. In her LinkedIn she wrote: “Incredibly grateful and excited to join Coinbase as the company’s Vice President of Communications. An amazing company with a terrific story to tell. Time to get to work.”
But not only Rachael Horwitz has recently joined the team. Among Coinbase’s newcomers is a number of other prominent specialists. For example, some months ago former Vice President of Messaging Products at Facebook David Marcus joined the board of directors of Coinbase.
Former LinkedIn’s Vice President of Corporate Development Emilie Choi is now Vice President of Corporate and Business Development at Coinbase. Eric Scro who is an ex-executive of New York Stock Exchange currently serves as Coinbase’s Vice President of Finance. And Tina Bhatnagar that previously worked for Twitter joined the company as its Vice President of Operations and Technology.
With such a team, there is little surprise that Coinbase is actively developing and exploring new directions. Recently, the company has announced the launch of a new incubator fund for early startups called the Coinbase Ventures that will help early-stage companies that work in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space.
