Blockchain platform Ontology has partnered with Daimler Mobility to develop a novel blockchain-based mobility platform for the automobile and mobility industry. This news was revealed by Ontology on their medium page on September 24, 2020.
Mobility Platform to Be Built on Ontology Blockchain
The partnership is centred on the development of MoveX, a blockchain-based mobility platform that will be specific to the automobile industry. MoveX will be integrating the ONT ID which is a decentralized identity framework built on the Ontology blockchain.
MoveX will enable multiple features which include user roaming, sharing and bundling of data and information. Furthermore, the platform will also enable cross integration of services across different platforms within the automobile industry.
The companies showcased the first product on the MoveX platform, called Welcome Home at Daimler’s startup Autobahn Expo Day. Welcome Home is developed to solve trade-off for users that want a unique and tailored service integration while keeping data privacy and control. It would also be deployed in other applications apart from automobiles.
Ontology chief and co-founder Andy Ji believes that Daimler Mobility is the right partner for the blockchain platform as it looks to leverage on new technologies to deliver the best experience for drivers across the world.
He further suggested that Ontology can offer a wide range of benefits that focus on security and transforms the automobile ecosystem. ‘’Our decentralized identity solution can offer a range of benefits that focus on security, verification, and trusted data management for not just drivers, but the entire automobile ecosystem.”
Growing Network of Partnerships
Ontology has continued to grow its ecosystem with numerous partnerships with key stakeholder in different fields.
Recently, Ontology, Neo and Switcheo launched Poly Network , a project aimed at fostering integration, cooperation and innovation in the blockchain universe. More explicitly, this system allows companies operating different networks to collaborate and interact with each other through a user-friendly and transparent interface.
This was followed by the launch of a new decentralized identity solution earlier in the month making it easier for crypto holders and traders to manage their crypto assets.
The latest partnership with Daimler comes as Ontology continues to strengthen ties with the German enterprise and moves forward with plans to open an office in Berlin.
