In a press release, Abra announced that the all-in-one cryptocurrency wallet and exchange have added five new cryptocurrencies to its wallet, making 25 cryptocurrencies and 50 fiat currencies available to buy, sell, hold or invest.
In addition to the existing cryptocurrencies, Monero [XMR], NEM [XEM], NEO [NEO], Lisk [LSK] and Verge [XVG] will now be available. Abra recently launched its redesigned app that charges no exchange transaction fees or deposit fees at any time.
Bill Barhydt, Founder, and CEO of Abra said:
“By adding the five new cryptocurrencies to the already robust list of coins Abra supports, we are continuing to offer exposure to assets that have traditionally been difficult to access in a simple and secure way,”
He further explained that the demand for additional alt coins is high and their goal is to continue adding more cryptocurrency options and ‘democratize access to financial services and all asset classes’.
Riccardo Spagni, the Lead Developer and Head of the Monero Project said:
“The increased liquidity and awareness for Monero that the Abra service will generate is really an exciting development for the Monero community,”
Abra app can be used to ‘quickly, easily and safely’ add money to the wallet using a U.S bank account. It also built a stablecoins platform that enables holding both fiat coins and cryptocurrencies using a combination of Bitcoin and Litecoin based smart contracts, which uses P2SH scripts.
Cryptocurrencies and a user’s private key is held in the wallet and there is no middleman involved in the transactions.
Ryan Vasquez, a crypto enthusiast tweeted:
“Never even heard of this app till the
#XVG announcement. But after downloading it, I wish it was available (of that I knew about it) over a year ago. #awesomework”
Another Twitter user commented:
“Great new. Keep up the good work. Really love the platform. It’s much easier to trade using USD pairs. Just one suggestion, could you please add a night mode (dark background) the white is really bright at night.”
A market enthusiast commented:
“Seem to be adding lots of coin pretty fast. Careful everyone…”
Mitchel Purvis, a market follower tweeted:
“Would love to see
$ADA #Cardano on your platform. Would also love the ability to transfer alt coins to other wallets directly, without having to first convert to $BTC.”
